Hi I’m Catherine, but everyone knows me as Cat. I’m an Artist and Illustrator living in Glasgow with my husband and our two cats. I grew up in the North of England, spending my childhood in both West Yorkshire and Lancashire, (so naturally I’m a huge fan of the Pendle Witches and the local countryside).

I studied Fine Art and Textiles at high school and through to A-level, but my first big achievement was winning a book illustration competition at primary school - I still have the book and my original artwork framed!

Fast forward to now and I’m a freelance artist and illustrator with work ranging from illustrated prints, menu designs, brand designs, murals, window paintings and greeting cards. I also love creating personalised commissions for all of you! I work by hand with collage and paint, digitally on my iPad, or I combine both. My work embodies bold colours, interesting textures, and printing techniques inspired by my surroundings to craft pieces that are fun and eye catching!

I’m also inspired by nature and folklore, my personal work explores the beauty of the natural world and the richness of storytelling. Usually working in a mixed media, my illustrations invite viewers into a world where the organic and the fantastical intertwine, offering a fresh perspective on familiar subjects. From my illustrations to large window paintings, my work is always an exploration of colour, texture, and the powerful stories behind them.
